"I strongly believe that the US-India relationship can be the defining relationship of the 21st century. We need to further promote bilateral trade, which will ultimately lead to more jobs in both countries," said Bera, the only Indian-American lawmaker said during a Congressional hearing.
"I look forward to Prime Minister Modi's upcoming visit to the US to reinvigorate our ties with a natural friend and partner," Bera said.
"As an Indian-American, I am proud that the Indian diaspora has made many remarkable accomplishments in the United States.
"Especially notable is India's foreign direct investment, which has resulted in more than 100,000 jobs in the United States," he said.
