"With five per cent Hindu and 86 per cent Muslim population, Indonesia is Islamic from the religious point of view, but its culture is based on the Ramayana, because Indonesians believe that Lord Rama was their ancestor," Adityanath said.
The chief minister was interacting with Indonesian artistes at his official residence here. These artistes had recently staged 'Ram Lila' in Lucknow and Ayodhya.
"We are seeing that Indonesia is rising in different fields. The world has to rise over religious intolerance and adopt this model so that there peace can be established everywhere.
