Need to transform education system: Minister

There is a need to transform the education system to cultivate the basic values of humanism, democracy and secularism among people, Jammu and Kashmir Minister Sham Lal Sharma said here today.
Youths are the future hope of the country and the need of the hour is to groom them as lovers of humanity, he said.
The PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control minister was speaking at a function, organised by the Youth Federation of Mishriwala, locals and panchayat members to pay tributes to martyr Bhagat Singh on his 106th birth anniversary.
Paying glowing tributes to Bhagat Singh, he said India was proud to produce a revolutionary who inspired the people to raise their voice against the foreign yoke.
Recalling his bravery and supreme sacrifices, Sharma exhorted youths to take a pledge to safeguard the honour of the nation.
