Inaugurating the 90th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan at Dombivili here last night, Fadnavis said that Marathi authors are eligible to get worldwide recognition but since their writings do not reach far and wide, they lose on such opportunities.
Hence in addition to translation of popular works into Indian languages they should be also be translated into international languages, the CM stressed.
Fadnavis also said that Marathi should be made the language of knowledge like in other countries including China and Japan.
To attract more and more youth towards literature, Fadnavis said that the most modern methods of communication and digitalisation of literature was the need of the hour.

Meanwhile, Sripal Sabnis the outgoing President of the 89th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan, in his address, created a stir when he declared in the presence of the CM that his life is in danger.
Sabnis claimed that he was getting life threats from right wing groups but vowed to continue his work without fear.
Sabnis also came down on the government and the police department for having failed to nab the killers of rationalists Narendra Dabholkar and Govind Pansare.
