Neekhra's resignation as MPSBC chief accepted

Veteran Congress leader Rameshwar Neekhra's resignation as the President of Madhya Pradesh State Bar Council (MPSBC), was today accepted paving way for elections to the plum post next month.
During this period, Neekhra's deputy Jaiprakash Mishra will shoulder his responsibility.
"The general body of MPSBC today accepted the resignation of Neekhra," Council Secretary Mukesh Mishra told PTI.
MPSBC- the state apex body of advocates - was scheduled to take a final call today on the no-confidence brought against Neekhra, against there was growing discontent.
Neekhra witnessed a turbulent time for last six months. A group in MPSBC had first brought a no-confidence motion against him in July but withdrew it a month later.
On December 18 again, a no-confidence motion to remove him from his post was brought in MPSBC. After releasing that it was not easy to sail through and Neekhra tendered his resignation, sources said.
With the acceptance of Neekhra's resignation, hectic political activities have began in the advocate fraternity and some advocates have started vying for the post. Advocate Ashok Shukla is the frontrunner for the post right now, sources in MPSBC said.
