In a bid to check road mishaps in rural area during night hours, Madhya Pradesh police is pasting neon stickers on the horns of stray bovines.
The neon strips will reflect light and alert the vehicle drivers.
"The stray animals in rural areas are causing accidents. That is why with the help of locals, we are pasting neon strips on the horns of bovines," Shipra police station Inspector Ajay Gurjar said.
With this, the drivers will be cautioned of stray animals on the roads from a distance, he added.
Last month, a driver and cleaner of a truck jumped in a swollen river fearing people's backlash after their vehicle allegedly hit a cow and killed it in Raisen district.
While the cleaner managed to swim to safety, the driver drowned.
