Nepal, India bilateral security meeting kicks off

Senior officials from India and Nepal today met to discuss bilateral security concerns and defence cooperation, including the supply of military equipment to Nepalese army.
The two-day 'Nepal-India Bilateral Consultative Group Meeting on Security Issues' started today during which the two sides will discuss matters relating to security concerns of both sides and future security cooperation between them.
The two sides will also review the progress made in connection with the decisions made during the past meetings and the future cooperation between the two armies, said sources at the Nepal Army Headquarters here.
During the meeting, a 14-member Indian delegation was led by Abhay Thakur, Joint Secretary North at the Ministry of External Affairs. Amrit Bahadur Rai, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nepal is leading the Nepalese delegation.

Matters relating to supplies of military equipments to Nepal by India, military training and information exchange will also figure during the meeting, according to Directorate of Public Relations, Nepal Army Headquarters.
The Nepal-India bilateral security meetings are regular ones, which are being held every year in Kathmandu and New Delhi turn by turn.
