A delegation of 15 journalists from Nepal today visited Amritsar in a bid to boost trade ties between the two neighbouring countries.
The delegation, comprising print and TV journalists from leading media organisations of Nepal, paid a visit to several business houses, including Khanna Paper Mills here.
Bala Krishnan, a senior official from the Ministry of External Affairs, India led the team of journalists.
Speaking on the occasion, Khanna Paper Mills director Suneet Kochhar said Nepal and India, despite their vast differences in size and population, are closely held together by culture and traditions.
A history of close cooperation and friendship between the people of these two nations has been greatly facilitated by the long and open border and close economic ties.
In the recent years, the two countries have successfully concluded several important bilateral treaties and their business ties are strong, Kochhar said.
