Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba said today his country "unreservedly" condemns terrorism in all its forms as he called for greater regional connectivity and integration for the collective prosperity.
Addressing the 15th ministerial meeting of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation in Kathmandu, Deuba said the BIMSTEC region, like any other region of the world, has not been immune to the dangers of terrors and threats of destruction and damages.
"Terrorism, transnational crimes, human and drug trafficking have deeply disturbed peace and harmony in our society," he said.
"BIMSTEC embodies the aspirations for integrated economy, the aspirations or shared progress, and the aspirations for transformative development outlook throughout the region, he noted. "The need for greater connectivity and integration has been more evident than ever for the pursuit of collective progress and prosperity of our region," Deuba said.
The member countries of BIMSTEC are India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bhutan and Nepal.
