The Crime Division of Metropolitan Police Range arrested the persons from the Nepalese capital.
The police raided five places including jewellery stores and arrested the suspects including two Indians, according to the police.
The two Indians-- Balu Jagannath Dhange, 48, Naresh Agrawal, 52 -- were from Maharashtra and Darjeeling respectively. They were in Kathmandu reportedly for business purposes.
Senior Superintendent of Police Pushkar Karki informed that they did not have invoice for the gold and silver and failed to disclose the source of cash they possessed.
The gold is believed to have been smuggled from Tatopani near the Nepal-Tibet border into Kathmandu.
