Nepal's Madhesi leader on fast-unto-death admitted to hospital

A senior Madhesi leader in Nepal, who was on fast-unto-death since Tuesday demanding an early announcement of Constituent Assembly poll date, was today forcefully admitted to a hospital after his health condition deteriorated.
Madhesi leader and Sadbhawana Party president Rajendra Mahato has been admitted to the ICU at Bir Hospital.
The Party General Secretary Manish Suman claimed that Mahato was forcefully taken away.
An ambulance was brought to Ratna Park where the leader was on fast without any knowledge of the party, Suman said, adding he did not know where leader Mahato was taken.
Police had to use force while picking up the protesting leader. They resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the party cadres assembled at the site, he said.

Accusing the Election Government led by Khil Raj Regmi of being indifferent towards the issues of the Madhesi people, Mahato resorted to hunger strike on Tuesday after talks between the government and his party over his 10-point demand had failed.

Declaration of the date of CA elections at the earliest was the major demand put forth by Mahato, claiming anti-federalist forces might delay the poll for their own vested interests.
Nepal Police spokesman Keshav Adhiari said the leader was taken to the hospital in view his deteriorating health condition.
It is learnt that, a team of doctors from the Bir Hospital had visited Mahato at Shanti Batika to inquire about his health condition this morning.

Mahato is already suffering from high blood pressure and diabetics.
