Nepal teenager commits suicide after Brazil's WC defeat

A teenage girl apparently committed suicide in southern Nepal today after Brazil, the team she had been supporting in the World Cup football semi-final, crashed to a humiliating defeat against Germany.
According to police, Pragya Thapa, 15, of Bharaul village of Sunsari district, and a strong fan of the Brazilian team, hanged herself after her favourite team was beaten by Germany 7-1 in the semi-final match at the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
The tenth grader in her school, was upset after the Brazil's defeat, said police quoting her family.
"She was disturbed and frustrated to see her favorite team going down in the semifinal match against Germany," Deputy Superintendent of Police Sudip Raj Bhandari said quoting her family members.

She killed herself while people at her home were busy in other household works.
Hundreds of youths in Kathmandu have been seen wearing sports jerseys belonging to different teams during the ongoing World Cup in Brazil.
