Nepal would have priority in Narendra Modi's foreign policy, BJP leader Tarun Vijay said today lauding the help of the neighbour in curbing the fake currency route via Kathmandu.
"Nepal is a an important strategic partner of India. Nepal is to have topmost priority in Narendra Modi's foreign policy," Vijay told reporters on the sidelines of a program here.
"The Nepalese people are waiting anxiously with great warmth and affection for the visit of Narendra Modiji. Vijay lauded the actions taken by Nepal in helping Indian agencies to curb the fake currency route.
"We are thankful to the Nepalese government for their active support in curbing the fake currency note route via Nepal to India, an economic war by enemies of India via Kathmandu," Vijay said.
Asked how the new Indian regime was planning to counter the increasing Chinese influence in Nepal, Vijay replied, "Our policy is that our relationship with Nepal is independent of our relationship with any other country.
