In a major achievement made so far in the fight against drug trafficking in the country, police have also seized 136-kg of hashish from a high-tech refinery at Sitapaila in the outskirts of Kathmandu ready for export to Goa.
53-year-old Devendra Bikram Rokka was operating the refinery at his residence for several years, they said, adding that hashish produced in the factory was frequently sent to international markets in Canada and Germany via Indian routes.
From Devendra's residence, the police have arrested his accomplices Govinda Kumar Rokka Chhantyal, 48, Manjit Gharti Magar, 60, and Nagendra Thapa, 30, all Nepali nationals.
Separately, police have uncovered another drug racket and arrested Shya Raut, 28, a Nepali national and Nageshwor Prasad, 47, a resident of Motihari from Kathmandu.
