Surendar got the passport after allegedly furnishing false details, including information related to his domicile status.
"The information he provided to get passport in Delhi was false. After getting the passport, he went to Kathmandu by road and thereafter to Singapore for work," a senior police official told PTI.
After expiry of his work permit in Singapore, he travelled to Philippines from where he was sent back to Singapore as he did not possess valid papers. On his arrival at Singapore, authorities in the city-state found that the Indian passport he possessed was obtained fraudulently. "We are investigating the case. He has been remanded to custody," the official said
