A 25-year-old Nepalese woman was held hostage along with her toddler son for three months allegedly by a man who pressurised her to withdraw rape case against his son, police said today.
The woman was raped by the accused identified as Naved in Nepal three months back when she was working in a hotel there, they said.
Following the incident, Naved was arrested and is now lodged in a jail in Nepal, police said.
In her complaint filed yesterday, the woman alleged that after the incident Naved's father Nasim went to Nepal and abducted her son.
The victim then came to Meerut to free her two-year-old son but was held hostage by Nasim in his house at Nauchandi district here.
Nasim kept pressurising the woman to withdraw the rape case against his son Naved, police said, adding, the victim was also beaten up by Nasim and his family members.
An FIR has been registered against Nasim and his family members under relevant sections of IPC and the matter is being investigated, police said.
