'Nerinte Mulmunakal' bags Kaithackal Mahamuni award

Noted writer Cheravally Sasi's 'Nerinte Mulmunakal', a poetry collection, has bagged this year's Kaithackal Mahamuni award, instituted in the name of popular Malayalam novel "Mahamuni".
The award comprises a purse of Rs 11,111, citation and shawl, a release said here today.
The award, introduced by Adoor-based Kanjikkal Devi Temple Seva Samithi, is instituted to honour "Mahamuni", the biographical novel based on the life and philosophical contributions of late social reformer Chattambi Swami, written by noted writer Kaithackal Somakurup.
A panel, comprising Bichu Thirumala, Thumbaman Thankappan and K Ramachandran Nair, chose the book for the recognition this year, it said.
The award will be distributed in a cultural meet at the temple premises in December, the release added.
