The streaming giant issued a statement on its US official Twitter account.
"Production on the final season of House of Cards is suspended until further notice.
"This will give us time to review the current situation with our producing partners at MRC," the tweets read.
Netflix and Media Rights Capital (MRC) banner jointly produce the popular political drama, which was being filmed in Baltimore from early October.

The news comes after actor Anthony Rapp alleged Spacey of harassing him in an inebriated state at his party when he was a minor, the two companies issued a joint statement expressed their concern on learning the claims.
"In response to last night's revelations, executives from both of our companies arrived in Baltimore this afternoon to meet with our cast and crew to ensure that they continue to feel safe and supported," the statement read.
It was also announced that the streaming giant has decided to put an end to "House of Cards" with season six.
