A Saudi telecom company has launched a new mobile application that will allow parents to control their children's Android smart phones in the Gulf Kingdom.
Mobily launched Mobily Guardian App in collaboration with Pervasive Group Inc, a specialised international company in mobile applications, to enable parents to have full control over their wards' smart phones and protect them against any inappropriate content.
The purpose of this app is the assurance of ideal use of smart phones by children, reduction of the negative impacts that may result from using them, and allowing parents to determine the content matching the age of their children.
The Guardian App includes premium features that will work under a trial period free of charge for 14 days, following which a monthly subscription fee will become applicable, according to Mobily.
The application ensures parents locate their child's phone instantly or periodically using text message commands, set time restrictions to limit usage of the device.
Also they can block, allow and set time limits on selected apps to be used by the child and to monitor text messages for inappropriate language as well as block calls and texts from unwanted contacts and numbers.
Pervasive Group Inc., headquartered in Clifton, NJ, USA, offers the award-winning and patent-pending MMGuardian mobile device family security and protection software, designed to help parents manage and monitor their children's mobile experience.
