Punjab government will this Thursday be unveiling its new "attractive" policy for traders which would also prove beneficial for the tourism industry in the state, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal said here today.
Talking to reporters after a visit to the Golden Temple, Sukhbir reiterated his commitment to bringing about an industrial revolution in Punjab and said that constant and concerted efforts were being taken by the government to encourage the setting up in the state of the units of the leading industrial houses of the country.
He also underlined the steps being taken in that direction by pointing to the maiden Investment Promotion Summit which his government is organising at Mohali on December 9 and 10.
Sukhbir was accompanied by his wife and Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur.
Meanwhile, answering a query related to the alleged purchase of Shamlat land in Mohali by Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Partap Singh Bajwa, the Deputy CM said that Revenue Department was looking into the matter and, after analysing all the facts, any necessary legal action would be taken.
Quizzed about the names of candidates for the Delhi Assembly polls, he said that the list was being finalised and could be announced any time. He said that in Rajasthan, Shiromani Akali Dal would support its ally, BJP.
As to any possibility of seat swapping with BJP for the Amritsar Lok Sabha constituency, Badal said no discussions had been held in that regard.
