CPI(M) today described the disruption of Parliamentary proceedings as "match-fixing" between BJP and Congress and said the Opposition's demand for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's resignation over the coal allocation issue was meaningless.

"In the garb of PM's resignation demand, you are allowing the government a free hand to do whatever they want. This is one kind of match-fixing between BJP and Congress," CPI-M polit bureau member Sitaram Yechury told reporters here.

He said the demand for resignation of the Prime Minister was meaningless as the truth does not come out.

"Parliament is not functioning, no debate is taking place and there is no accountability. A match-fixing is going on which is helping the government to avoid debate. We want the government to be accountable to Parliament," he said.

Yechury accused the government of not doing anything to break the logjam in Parliament.

"It is upto the government to decide on how long to continue with a paralysed Parliament," he said.

Parliament has remained paralysed since April 22, when it met for the second half of the Budget Session after a month- long recess.

The Finance Bill was today passed by Lok Sabha amid walkout by the Opposition.
