New football club launched in Shillong

Meghalaya today witnessed the official launch of yet another football club, the Rising FC, which is aimed at proving upcoming talents with state-of-the-art facilities in their grooming years.
Ali Fazal, who shot to fame with his act in the popular '3 Idiots' bollywood movie, unveiled the team's jersey. He is also roped in as the brand ambassador of the club.
Giving an insight into vision and mission of the club, the club's president Seraj Siddiqui said it was his dream to see talented youths from the north eastern region gets the best platform and facilities.
He said the club will be registered with the Meghalaya Football Association and is likely to be a part of the big leagues in the near future.
Apart from the Pratibha Industries Ltd who announced a Rs one crore seed money for the club at the launch, the Asian Institute of Medical Sciences and 'Campus Shoes' have also tied up with the club.
