The reports stated that Egypt's efforts to reach a new ceasefire agreement between the Palestinian resistance factions and Israel are currently continue ongoing.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said yesterday that Egypt won't abandon the Palestinian cause and is still holding its position on forming a Palestinian state with east Jerusalem as its capital.
The president's remarks came during his meeting with journalists.
"The price of lost lives of our brothers and children in Gaza should push for finding a comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause," the president said.

Palestinian Ma'an news agency reported today that Israeli military sources confirmed that Egypt is currently working to finalise a month-long ceasefire between both sides.
Meanwhile, a senior Palestinian official said today that Egyptian mediators have proposed a new ceasefire in Gaza that would open the blockaded enclave's crossings and allow in aid and reconstruction materials.
