Newly-appointed Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy today vowed to fight for people's issues and strengthen the party organisation in the state.
Reddy, who has been the working president of TPCC, replaced Ponnala Lakshmaiah in a reshuffle by the AICC.
"TRS abused us before elections and made populist promises like giving three acres of land to Dalits, 12 per cent reservation for Muslims, 12 per cent reservation for Dalits and two-bedroom houses for poor. We will fight for implementation of their promises," Reddy said here.
The TRS government has failed to fulfil the promises it made in the nine months since it assumed office, he said.
Highlighting that Congress has equal responsibility as the main opposition in Telangana, Reddy said the party would stand by people and fight for the people's issues.
Thanking the party leadership for entrusting him with the responsibility, Reddy said his immediate priority is to strengthen the organisation as per the goals of Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi.
