Among the candidates who are fighting the elections on the behalf of 'Puthiya Sakthi Ani (Front)' are people who had taken up various social issues, it said.
The Front released the first list of candidates today and and vouched for a "new political culture", saying it would strive for corruption-free governance and liquor-free Tamil Nadu.
Among the candidates announced by the front are Narmada Nandakumar (Ambattur) and Mohammed Aarif (Tiruchendur).
Another candidate, Venkatesh, an MA and MBA holder, had brought to "light" a recruitment scam wherein fake disability certificates were produced by persons, it added.
Other candidates announced by the front were a mechanic, a tree plantation movement activist and social workers, among others.
