New regulations on exchange of notes unjustified: Gehlot
Press Trust of India Jaipur Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot today accused the Centre of imposing new rules and regulations for exchanging demonetised Rs 500/1000 currency notes instead of coming out of some relief measures for the common man.
"When the whole nation is looking at them to come out with relief measures, what they are giving is simply new announcements and regulations," Gehlot tweeted.
He said people need money to lead their lives and not new stricter rules.
Claiming that new rules for exchange of notes will only increase the woes of common man, Gehlot said the latest decision to reduce the withdrawal limit is a wrong decision.
"The NDA government's latest announcement that people can only exchange Rs 2000 once until December 30 is absolutely shocking and unjustified. What will the common man and the poor people do?" he said, adding that lakhs of people in the country don't have bank accounts and what will they do now?
"These regulations are only heightening the crisis situation," he said.
