"This year we have made the route a little simpler, lesser turns and more variations in terms of terrain. Previously it was mostly upward route but now it is more gradient," Race Director Hugh Jones told reporters here.
Asked what was the thinking behind changing the route, Jones said, "Anything fast is quite an attraction, and achievements relating to faster time, we thought, is good for the event, and hence we thought of changing the route."
"Expectation is a very big word, but certainly there is a platform to achieve the fastest time ever in the event. It all depends on whether the athletes want to run fast from the very beginning of the run," Jones said.
