Artworks created by 34 leading and emerging contemporary artists in their signature styles have taken centre stage at an ongoing exhibition here.
'Art NOW 17', underway at the Art Alive Gallery here, features 84 works of art depicting the current cultural and global influences on Indian art.
Some of the big names that are part of the show include Krishen Khanna, Satish Gujral, Sakti Burman, Jogen Chowdhury, Anjolie ElaMenon, Manu Parekh, Thota Vaikuntam, Jatin Das, K S Radhakrishnan, Arpana Caur, Paresh Maity, Jayasri Burman, and Maya Burman among others.
Sunaina Anand, director of Art Alive, said the artists experimented with newer mediums, responding to the environment around them, to create works especially for the show.
Paresh Maity goes back to "the most enchanting city" in his work, "Varanasi".
"This is my largest tribute to the city of enlightenment," he said.

The event is the second in the series of 'Art NOW', after the first show at the Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai last year.
"Art Now is about art today, portraying the current art practices and how they have evolved over the last few years. It is a series that will showcase once a year new works of some of the important Indian artists.
"We plan to compile this into a volume 'Art Now' that will be released in 2020," Anand said.
The show will continue till January 15.
