Newborn girl baby found murdered

In a case of female infanticide, a new born girl baby was found suffocated to death with her mouth and nose closed with plasters near here today, police said.
The baby was found on the Cauvery river bed near a bypass road by passerby, who informed officials.
On a complaint from Koranattu Karuppur Village Administrative Officer Murthy, police registered a case and recovered the baby and sent it for postmortem.
