nexGTV ropes in Abhesh Verma as COO

Subscription-driven video entertainment app nexGTV today said it has appointed Abhesh Verma as its Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Verma joins nexGTV with over 16 years of experience, with his last stint as the Chief Growth Officer and CEO of Saavn Interactive.
In his new role at nexGTV, Verma will be spearheading executive decision making and long-term strategic planning for the organisation, nexGTV said in a statement.

NIIT IFBI launches programme in Banking Sales and Mktg * NIIT Institute for Finance, Banking and Insurance (NIIT IFBI) today launched the first batch for a Certificate Programme in Banking Sales and Marketing (CPBSM) in association with Catholic Syrian Bank (CSB).
CPBSM is an exclusive program that aims to build a pool of probationary officers with marketing skills, NIIT IFBI said in a statement.

The one-month programme is designed for training and recruitment of probationary officers to be posted in sales and marketing of various deposit, loan and insurance products of the Bank under various functional verticals, it added.
To start with, the programme will be available in select locations including Thrissur, Trivandrum and Coimbatore.

Jaiprakash Power shifts registered office to Madhya Pradesh * Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd said that its registered office has been shifted from Himachal Pradesh to Madhya Pradesh with effect from December 30, 2015.
"Pursuant to the approval of shareholders on July 30, 2015, as confirmed by Order dated December 1, 2015 of Regional Director (Northern Region), Ministry of Corporate Affairs, the Registered Office of the Company has been shifted from Himachal Pradesh to Madhya Pradesh with effect from December 30, 2015," the company said in a BSE filing today.
US-based First Solar makes 1 gigawatt DC of PV
* US-headquartered solar power developer First Solar has achieved one gigawatt DC of photovoltaic solar capacity shipped to India, making it the first thin film PV module manufacturer to achieve the milestone in the country.
"We thank customers and stakeholders in India for placing their trust in First Solar. They are benefiting from differentiated technology that has proven its superior energy yield by delivering 5-9 per cent more energy, compared to polysilicon based modules in India for its customers over the past four years," First Solar's Country Head for India Sujoy Ghosh said in a statement.

Vakrangee selects My Mobile Payments for bill payment
* IT company Vakrangee today said that it has partnered with My Mobile Payments Limited for rendering bill payment collection solution for both government as well as private utility to the unserved and under-served geographies of India.
"Vakrangee and MMPL have agreed in principle, to establish national alliance to offer much needed customer centric and user-friendly payment services of wide range of billers, service providers, suppliers, utility billing companies from Vakrangee's more than 20,000 outlets," Vakrangee said in a BSE filing.
At full scale deployment, MMPL services of key utility bill payment collection shall be rolled out from Vakrangee's more than 20,000 Kendras in one go, the filing said.

Digicel Business, Tata Comm partner for Caribbean region biz
Telecom company Digicel Business, which operates in 31 markets, has partnered with Tata Communications to deliver bandwidth connectivity to enterprise customers in the Caribbean region, the companies said in a joint statement.
The agreement extends the Digicel Business to more than 200 countries and territories worldwide over Tata Communications' leading global fiber network.
Digicel and Tata Communications are coming together to offer Caribbean-based enterprises including value added services, unified communications and security services, the statement said.

LeEco contributes to Akshaya Patra for childrens' midday meal * Electronics company LeEco today handed over a cheque to NGO Akshaya Patra to support their endeavour to feed over a million children.
LeEco on February 25 had committed to support a mid-day meal for two children for every Le Superphone sold. The mission of The Akshaya Patra Foundation is to reach 5 million children by 2020 and LeEco hopes to continue its association to help them cross this goal, the company said in a statement.
Sahara Housingfina net profit at Rs 28.67 lakh in Q4
* Sahara Housingfina Corporation Ltd (SHCL) today reported a fall in its net profit at Rs 28.67 lakh during last quarter of the fiscal ended March 2016.
The company had registered a net profit of Rs 32.41 lakh in the January-March quarter of 2014-15.
Total income during the fourth quarter of 2015-16 also fell to Rs 2.62 crore from Rs 3.57 crore in the same period of the preceding fiscal 2014-15, it said in a BSE filing.
For entire fiscal ended March 2016, company's net profit fell to Rs 1.88 crore, as against Rs 2.19 crore in the preceding fiscal.
Total income during the year also decreased to Rs 12.78 crore, compared with an earning of Rs 17.37 crore in 2014-15.
SHCL is engaged in the business of housing finance.

Freecharge fastest growing digital payments app: Nielsen * According to a Nielsen study, Snapdeal's digital payments application, Freecharge is the fastest growing in its category in the country.
As per data released by Nielsen Informate Smartphone Panel data, the reach of the Freecharge app grew from 17 per cent to 30 per cent in the period October 2015 to April 2016.
Paytm still has the highest active reach at 40 per cent, while Freecharge stood at 30 per cent, followed by Mobiqwik at 20 per cent. The other digital payments applications include My Airtel, My Idea, My Vodafone and Oxigen wallet.

Yes Bank partners with Click&pay for cashless transactions * Mid-sized private sector lender Yes Bank has partnered with the mobile-based payment solutions company Click&pay for cashless transactions.
Under the partnerships, Click&pay will issue Yes Bank mobile wallets and employ its platform immediate payment service to o process instant proximity transactions with merchants and person to person, a bank statement said today.
It is targeting to reach one million users this year using the Yes Bank wallet, it said, adding the company has on boarded close to 750 merchants in various sectors in Hyderabad.
Click&pay is a portfolio company of T-Hub, public/private partnership between the government of Telangana to promote startup enterprises.

Websol reports net loss at Rs 5.19 cr in Q4 * Solar equipment maker Websol Energy Systems Ltd's loss narrowed to Rs 5.19 crore in March quarter compared to year ago period.
The company's loss was Rs 36.49 crore in the quarter ended on March 31, 2015, stated Websol Energy Systems Ltd in a BSE filing today.
However, the company's total income from operations came down to Rs 65.45 crore in the quarter under review compared to Rs 135.78 crore in the year ago period.
Its total income from operation too dipped to Rs 279.70 crore in fiscal 2016 from Rs 355.75 crore in previous fiscal.
The company's net loss in fiscal 2016 has also narrowed to Rs 9.87 crore in the fiscal under review compared to Rs 52.37 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous financial year.
