Centre for Catalyzing Change (C3), formerly known as CEDPA India, is a non-governmental organization working in India since late 1980's to increase opportunities for adolescent girls and boys and youth.
"Policies and programmes in India have increasingly recognized that adolescents are a vulnerable group with special needs, including the area of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH). However, there have been challenges in reaching out since the numbers are huge," a statement said.
"Traditional classroom education, especially targeting youth around life skills and reproductive health, is sometimes not totally effective according to public health experts and epidemiologists.
A consultation was held in the national capital earlier this week, to share the process and learnings of designing, developing and implementing a graded digital curriculum - "YouthLIFE".
Correct understanding of gender stereotypes, bullying, gender and equity and myths about transmission of HIV were among the topics that were discussed during the consultation.
