NGT orders action against bakery unit running in residential area in Badarpur

The National Green Tribunal has asked the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) and the SDM concerned to inquire and take action against an alleged illegal bakery being run in a residential area in Badarpur here.

A bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel directed the SDMC and the SDM to look into the matter and take appropriate action in accordance with law.

"Allegation in this application is that the illegal bakery was earlier closed by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation in 2006 in the presence of the SDM, Kalkaji and Delhi Police. The same was started again...

"The applicant is directed to furnish a copy of this order, along with a complete set of papers to the SDM,Kalkaji and the SDMC for compliance," the bench said.

The tribunal was hearing a plea filed by Aslam Khan alleging that one Mohd Atif was operating an illegal bakery at house number C-282, Chungi No. 2, Ram Pyari Camp, Lal Kuan in Badarpur here without obtaining consent and permission of Pollution Department and other departments.
