NGT stays construction of cycle track in Ghaziabad

National Green Tribunal today stayed the construction of proposed 17.6 km-long cycle track by Ghaziabad Development Authority keeping in view of large scale felling of green trees on the road side.
The order came on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by municipal councillor Rajendra Tyagi.
The petitioner had appealed the tribunal to restrain GDA from felling trees in green belt for construction of cycle track.
