Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said this in his reply to the Calling Attention Notice of Congress MLA from Palwal Karan Singh Dalal during the ongoing assembly session here.
Khattar said several steps have been taken by the district police to ensure smooth flow of traffic on National Highway 2.
"Adequate deployment of traffic police has been made. At present, 121 police personnel have been deployed for traffic duty in the district and the force so deployed is working in two shifts of 12 hours each.
He said "no-entry" has been enforced in the Palwal city area for commercial and heavy vehicles during peak traffic hours which extend from between 8-10 A.M., 2-4 PM and again 5-7 PM to avoid congestion.

Extending the no-entry time for commercial vehicles from 8 AM to 8 PM is under contemplation, he added.
Apart from this, commercial vehicles coming from Sohna side and moving towards Faridabad and Ballabhgarh Industrial area are being prevented from coming to NH-2 by diverting their movement towards Prithla via village Dhatir.
During 2016, a total of 51,730 numbers of vehicles have been challaned for various traffic related offences in the state, he said.
The local police have also introduced E-Challaning system for cashless transactions.
He said effective coordination would be made with the NHAI for the earliest possible completion of projects in the area falling in Palwal town.
He said the length of NH-2 falling under the municipal area of Palwal town is about 12 kms and it has 10 major inter-sections.
The flow of heavy vehicular traffic has further increased after the decision of National Green Tribunal to levy environmental compensation charge on commercial vehicles entering Delhi, Khattar said.
