Following the direction, Muzaffarnagar SSP V B Singh yesterday handed over a cheque of Rs five lakh to the mother Hasina Begum as the compensation amount.

The mother had alleged that the police had picked up her son Wasim from their house here and killed him in an encounter in Moradabad on May, 26, 2005.
