A court here today extended by five days the police (NIA) custody of Mohammed Ataullah Rehman, an alleged key member of an ISIS module here which came to light last month.
Rehman (31) was arrested here with Naimathullah Hussaini alias Yasir alias Abu Darda on July 12. The duo, as well as two others, Mohammed Ibrahim Yazdani and Mohammed Ilyas Yazdani, were today produced before the Metropolitan Sessions Judge K Rajkumar.
NIA sought Rehman's custody for seven more days for further investigation but the court extended it by five days.
Yasir, Ibrahim Yazdani and Ilyas Yazdani were sent to judicial custody till July 26.
NIA had claimed at the time of his arrest that Rehman played a key role in plotting terror strikes and was also involved in radicalising others. He allegedly administered them oath of allegiance to the ISIS chief Abu Baghdadi.
Yasir was appointed the "amir" (chief) of the Hyderabad module and was its main fund-raiser. He also participated in key conspiracy meetings, according to NIA.
