The charge sheet has been filed against Rajesh Madhavan (Mavelikkara), Gopal from Chennai, Devarajan (Kollam-Kerala) Bahuleyan (Chirayinkeezhu-Kerala) and Ajaya Kumar (Muvattupuzha-Kerala) under various IPC sections besides Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 for offences including criminal conspiracy, sedition, unlawful activities, membership and support to terrorist organisation.
In its charge sheet, the NIA said its investigation has revealed that Revolutionary Democratic Front is a front organization of CPI (Maoist) party in Kerala and that the leaders of Kerala state unit of RDF conspired to form a constituent student's organisation of RDF with the intention of recruiting students and youth into its fold for furthering the objectives of the banned party.
"The meeting was organised with the intention of associating, professing to associate and supporting the activities of proscribed terrorist organization (CPI) Maoist there by threatening the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India. The accused also intended to excite disaffection towards the government established by law in India," NIA said.
The case was registered at Mavelikkara Police Station, Alappuzha district following the arrest of the five persons from a closed room of Cherumadom lodge in Mavelikkara based on information received by the Additional SI of the police station.
