Nickel edges higher as demand picks up

Nickel prices recovered by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous market today following pick up in demand from consuming industries.
However, other base metals moved in a narrow range in scattered deals and settled at previous levels.
Traders said pick up in demand from alloy-makers led to the rise in nickel prices.
In the national capital, nickel plate (4x4) moved up by Rs 2 Rs 840-845 per kg.
Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 100-106, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 840-845, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 368, chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 80, lead imported Rs 86, aluminium ingots Rs 157, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 153, aluminium wire scrap Rs 153 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 151.
