At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in February declined by Rs 2.20, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 699.70 per kg in a business turnover of 10,373 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in March shed 60 paise, or 0.08 per cent, to Rs 705.50 per kg in 299 lots.
Analysts attributed the slide in nickel futures to profit-booking by participants, driven by subdued demand from alloy-makers in the domestic spot market.
