Nickel prices fell further by 0.39 per cent to Rs 1,017.20 per kg in futures market today as speculators pared their positions, tracking a weak trend at the spot market on slump in demand from consuming industries.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in June month fell by Rs 4, or 0.39 per cent to Rs 1,017.20 per kg in business turnover of 218 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in May contracts shed Rs 3.30, or 0.32 per cent to Rs 1,012.50 per kg in 2,491 lots.
Market analysts said offloading of positions by participants on the back of easing demand from alloy-makers in the physical markets led to the decline in nickel prices at futures trade.
