At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in current month moved up Rs 2.20, or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 670.40 per kg in business turnover of 600 lots.
The metal for delivery in December contracts rose by a similar margin to trade at Rs 677 per kg in six lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in nickel prices in futures trade to fresh buying by participants due to pick up in demand from alloy-makers in the spot market and a firming trend in the base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange.
