Nickel fell by 0.88 per cent to Rs 1,116.50 per kg in the evening session at futures trade today as speculators indulged in trimming positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, Nickel for delivery in July declined by Rs 9.90, or 0.88 per cent to Rs 1116.50 per kg in business turnover of 4915 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in August contract lost Rs 10, or 0.88 per cent to Rs 1120.60 per kg in 842 lots.
MCX remained closed for morning session of trading on account of 'Id-ul-Fitr'.
Analysts said apart from subdued demand from alloy-makers in the domestic spot markets and weak trend in global markets mainly influenced nickel prices at futures trade.
