Nickel prices rose by 0.69 per cent to Rs 943.90 per kg in futures trade today as speculators raised their bets, driven by growing demand at the spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in June month rose by Rs 6.50, or 0.69 per cent to Rs 943.90 per kg in business turnover of 20 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in May contract was trading higher by Rs 5.90, or 0.63 per cent to Rs 940 per kg in 1,497 lots.
Analysts said building up of positions by participants following pick up in demand from alloy-makers at the spot market mainly influenced nickel prices at futures trade.
