Elsewhere, copper prices ended mixed on alternate bouts of buying and selling, while tin dropped due to subdued offtake from industrial users.
Globally, the industrial metal copper trading steady at the LME in early trade, holding above 4-1/2 year lows touched earlier this week as oil prices revived, but a stronger dollar and expectations of swelling supply kept gains in check.
Nickel climbed by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,125 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 1,120.
Copper utensils scrap, copper sheet cutting, and brass sheet cutting moved up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 425, Rs 445 and Rs 335 from Rs 423, Rs 443 and Rs 333.
