Nickel hardens on rising demand, global cues

Nickel prices hardened at the non-ferrous metal market here today on persistent buying by stockist amidst rising demand from alloy industries on the back of higher global cues.
Elsewhere, copper and brass firmed up on sustained demand from consumer industries.
In London, nickel prices struck their highest in more than two months in early trade and were set to notch up a weekly gain of nearly 6 percent, as the price of some nickel ore stocks in China began to rise on dwindling supply.
Nickel climbed by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,150 from Thursday's closing level Rs 1,140.
Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy and copper wire bar rose by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 474, Rs 465 and Rs 502 from Rs 470, Rs 461 and Rs 498.
Copper utensils scrap and copper sheet cutting moved up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 426 and Rs 446 from Rs 424 and Rs 444.
Copper armiture, brass utensils scrap and brass sheet cutting edged-up by a Re per kg each to Rs 449, Rs 320 and Rs 335, respectively.
