Nickel moves up on increased demand

In restricted activity, nickel rose by Rs 3 per kg at local market today due to increased demand from consuming industries.
However, other base metals held steady in scattered enquiries.
Traders said increased demand from alloy-makers mainly led to the rise in nickel prices.
In the national capital, nickel (4x4) went up by Rs 3 to Rs 1,090-1,096 per kg.
Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot 114-120, Nickel plate (4x4) 1,090-1,096, Gun metal scrap 227, Bell metal scrap 229, Copper mixed scrap 401, Chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 106, Lead imported 107, Aluminium ingots 166, Aluminium sheet cutting 167, Aluminium wire scrap 169 and Aluminium utensils scrap 166.
