Adam, an UEFA pro licence holder is presently working as the head coach of the U-19 national team of Azerbaijan and will take charge from April 1.
Nicolai has also served as the national coach for the U-16 and U-17 national teams of Azerbaizan and has guided the U-19 national team to the Elite Group of UEFA.
Besides, he has also worked as the International Football Development Advisor of the German Football Association (DFB) and served as the UEFA head of coach education in Azerbaijan.
Congratulating Nicolai on the job, Kushal Das, General Secretary, AIFF, said: "We are pleased to have him on board. He comes with great credentials and recommendations and his experience, I hope will help us immensely to field a competitive team for the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
