The 50-year-old actor, who has starred in hit films like 'Face/Off', 'Con Air', and 'The Rock', said he did a lot of action genre films to prove people wrong that he cannot do such roles, reported Contactmusic.
"Much has been made of the fact that I made many action movies. The reason I did that was because the first time people said, you couldn't do it. 'You are not an action hero, forget it'," Cage said.
"So what you saw was a dramatic actor acting like an action hero, trying to find characters that were interesting within the genre... Now having done that, I want to focus on the dramatic kind of filmmaking," he added.
