Nifty scales fresh peak of 10,230, climbs 63 points

Benchmark Nifty climbed 63.40 points to reach all-time closing high at 10,230.85 supported by stable global cues and sustained domestic fund buying.
Overseas, European shares were mixed as investors monitored the latest in political news coming out of the UK.
Asian stocks edged higher as investors digested the release of China inflation data.
The Nifty opened higher at 10,207.40 and moved in a range of 10,242.95 and 10,175.10 before ending at 10,230.85, rise of 63.40 points, or 0.62 per cent, from its last close.
It saw an intra-day movement of about 67.85 points.
On the sectoral front, Metal rose by 1.87 per cent, Pharma 1.54 per cent, Auto 1.25 per cent, Realty 1.11 per cent, Infra 1.09 per cent, FMCG 0.68 per cent, Media 0.44 per cent and IT 0.34 per cent.
However, PSU Bank and Finance Service fell by 0.21 per cent and 0.04 per cent, respectively.

The broader markets extended their gains as both the midcap and smallcap shares gained by 0.30 per cent and 0.26 per cent, respectively.
Major index gainers were Bharti Airtel, Infratel, Vedl, M&M and Bosch Ltd.
Losers were Bajaj Finance, IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank, Yes Bank and Tech Mahindra.
The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was in favour of losers. On the NSE, 920 stocks declined, 814 advanced and 75 remained unchanged.
Total securities that hit their price bands were 156.
Turnover in the cash segment rose to Rs 29,905.35 crore from Rs 29,800.05 crore last Friday.
A total of 12,925.28 lakh shares changed hands in 10,165,465 trades. The market capitalisation of listed firms on NSE stood at Rs 1,37,54,418 crore.
