Delhi Police have arrested two persons, including a Nigerian national, and claimed to have busted an international cheating racket which had allegedly duped an Arunachal Pradesh-based doctor of Rs 30 lakh.
The doctor, identified as Raja Dodum, filed a complaint with Delhi Police after he was duped on the pretext of selling herbal seeds.
After receiving the complaint, police laid a trap and arrested Anita (40) from Vasant Vihar and recovered Rs 5 lakh from her possession. Police claimed Anita impersonated as one Durga Luxmi and was working with a Nigerian gang.
On her instance, police arrested Nigerian national Emmanue Chika (28), who impersonated as Edward Spicy.
Police claimed that one of the gang members, identified as Pastor Zackaria, was still at large.
"The doctor had alleged that he received a friend request on Facebook from a user Bianca Hernandez of the UK. During chatting, she introduced herself as an employee of a pharmacy company of UK. She lured him to buy herbal seeds from Delhi- based supplier Durga Luxmi and also asked him to contact her Purchase Manager Edward Spicy," a police officer said.

Then, he was sold a packet weighing 10 grams for Rs 60,000 and was told that he can further sell it for Rs 1,30,000. On this, Dodum came to Delhi on April 4 and contacted Edward Spicy.
The doctor initially bought four packets as sample of herbal seeds and showed to Spicy, who asked him to buy 300 packets and also showed a bag full of US dollars during their meeting at a five star hotel near IGI airport.
A day later, the doctor met Durga Luxmi and she agreed to supply 50 packets of herbal seed for Rs 21 lakh. They agreed to meet at Priya Cinema Complex in Vasant Vihar where he made the payment.
After striking the deal, he contacted Spicy for the delivery of packets but he told that he was nabbed by customs officer for possessing large amount of foreign currency.
The doctor then contacted his Facebook friend Bianca Hernandez. She told him that their company was taking necessary action to get Spicy out. Soon Hernandez provided him an SBI bank account number and asked the victim to pay Rs 6.80 lakh as bribe to cops for the release of Spicy.
On April 8, Dodum deposited the amount and later realised that he had been duped by the gang and contacted police.
